glenn murcutt thinking drawing/working drawing
australian architect glenn murcutt does not use computers when creating his buildings, he simply drafts the designs by hand. he established his firm in 1969 and it is a one man operation, as he does not employ a secretary or staff. his work is primarily private houses and institutions. in all his designs he focusses on sustainability and chooses not to rely on air conditioning, rather designing buildings to have natural ventilation and light to suit their surroundings. recycled glass, stone and steel are just a few of the materials incorporated in his designs. the thinking drawing/working drawing exhibition displays the process of his designs and features both built and unbuilt projects, throughout his career.
