some tuesdays, new york city commuters wake up a little late. they walk a little faster in the cold. they stare longer than normal at the traffic beneath the subway and watch W after W go by as they wait for the only-option N train. they put ‘i’ll make a man out of you’ on a never ending loop, again, so they don’t have to think about health insurance deadlines, and they are rewarded by a slow-dripping stream coming from the pants of a passed out man on the other end of the N they waited so long for. meanwhile, 2.4 hours away, in a tiny wood, a minimal cabin provided by the wellness startup, ‘getaway,’ awaits the reservation of tired, millennial souls.

getaway does everything it can to create a convenient remedy to micro-inconveniences. with a handful of touches, one could open the website, choose their escape, reserve a cabin, sign up and fill out a payment method. those expecting a sanctuary from subway urine may find it; however, it should be noted, fellow millennial friends, that healing and balance are not achievable with $199, and a night without wifi. take care of those health insurance deadlines — getaway when you can, instead of escaping when you’d like to.
