located in a residential area of valencia, spain, ‘atrium house’ has been designed to offer an expansive sense of scale and light. completed by local practice fran silvestre arquitectos, the dwelling is centered around a sheltered and private external courtyard which serves as a fluid extension of the home’s living quarters.

the structure is clad with large amounts of glazing providing a direct and constant relationship between internal and external space. inside the the L-shaped building, rooms overlook a pool which reflects and emphasizes the elegant proportions of the house. the design also utilizes the gradient of the surrounding landscape to allow natural light to enter into the lower level of the property.
