são paulo-based FGMF arquitetos has completed aruá, a new residential complex designed as a kind of puzzle with four buildings of different architectural plans and materials. located in the perdizes neighborhood, west of são paulo, brazil, aruá offers people interested in living there a chance to choose not only their preferred apartment, but also their favorite façade.

FGMF arquitetos‘ project, launched in collaboration with idea! zarvos, features a sequence of roofs with terraces and gardens on all four modules, that act as substitutes to ground floor backyards. one of the modules, made of synthetic wood, stands out like a suspended sculpture, and connects the building to its surroundings at the same time. the entrance hall features a garden full of greenery and a big panel by plastic artist joão nitsche made of hydraulic tile, while a total of 22 apartments of 136 to 253 sq-meters occupy the other levels.
