El Departamento designs Nude Project Milan Flagship Store
The Milan flagship store for Spanish streetwear brand Nude Project, designed by El Departamento, spans 98 sqm and draws from classic Italian palaces. Located at Porta Ticinese 64, the historic gateway transformed into a contemporary meeting point, represents a major international leap for both entities. El Departamento addresses the challenge of enhancing the brand’s reputation while realizing an architectural project befitting Milan. The conceptualization, named ‘Il Palazzo’, encapsulates the essence of Italian palaces with seven distinctive elements that exude luxury and sophistication.

store’s spatial design draws from classic Italian palaces
The first element, ‘Il Tapetto’, defines the distinguished area of the store, featuring premium outfit displays and fitting rooms with floors adorned by a bespoke carpet. ‘Il Tavolo e la Fontana’, the second element, includes a centerpiece in the exhibition area where a fountain harmonizes the environment, surrounded by an exhibition table. ‘Il Lampadario’, the third element, introduces large decorative lamps custom-designed for Nude Project, illuminating the space with the brand’s initials hovering over the fountain. ‘Il Cassetone’, the fourth element, takes center stage with a faux coffered ceiling design constructed with suspended plasterboard uprights in a grid formation, backlighting each panel.
The fifth element, ‘Lo Specchio’, reimagines the presence of large mirrors in Italian palaces with strategically backlighted velvet-framed mirrors. ‘Il Tessuti’, the sixth element, refers to the chosen textiles dressing the space, with large-scale curtains concealing the fitting rooms. Finally, ‘Il Giardineto’, the seventh element, structures the space with the presence of nature materializing in two imposing stainless-steel planters, serving as an allegory of noble Italian gardens. El Departamento‘s Nude Project Milan Flagship Store at Porta Ticinese 64 seamlessly merges Italian heritage with the brand’s contemporary vision.
