elenberg fraser clads melbourne's victoria one in louvered green glazing

construction is set to get underway at the site of ‘victoria one’, a 75-storey tower in melbourne designed by australian practice elenberg fraser. clad in green glazing and layered architectural fins, the high-rise comprises a 10 level podium containing automated car parking and apartments, with a further 64 levels of residential units positioned above. in total, the development accommodates 269 individual flats, with a range of one, two and three bed properties.

the structure is not only defined by its soaring height, but also its distinctive finned envelope, designed to give the building aerodynamic qualities which reduces downdrafts towards street level. these vertical wings also work as passive solar shading – reflecting natural light and glare.

internally, each residence boasts timber flooring, with natural materials and contemporary products incorporated throughout. floor-to-ceiling glazing maximizes direct access to ventilation and daylight, while providing expansive views across the city below.the development also features an indoor pool and gym at its midpoint, while private dining and living spaces and contained within a club lounge exclusive to residents of the top 8 floors.
