built to coincide with the city’s hosting of the 2015 world athletics championships, ‘the NIKE studio’ occupies a beijing art gallery, encouraging visitors to improve their levels of fitness. designed by shanghai-based design agency coordination asia, the project comprises a variety of different zones, including product displays, workout studios, and a multi-functional lounge.
glowing LED grids are used within the scheme
the 1,200 square meter space features the sportswear brand’s 2015 winter collection ‘holiday 15’, and offers guests an immersive series of experiential spaces. throughout the transformed gallery, the themes of transparency and infinity are visibly expressed through the use of reflective display cases, glowing LED grids and linear frames. workout areas are rendered almost entirely black, and create a strong contrast against the free-floating installations.
