construction is underway at the design museum‘s new home in kensington, west london. the gallery’s extensive collection will be housed in an existing landmark building from the 1960s – originally designed by robert matthew johnson marshall. the structure, defined by its swooping copper roof perched on a low brick plinth, will be remodeled by john pawson, offering three times more exhibition space in addition to improved educational and learning facilities. the new design museum is scheduled to open to the public in early 2015.
