concentric amphitheater by OMA for selfridges beauty campaign

 

 

 

department sore chain selfridges has enlisted rem koolhaas of OMA to design the interior of their flagship london retail outlet. hosting the the ‘festival of imagination’ the ‘ultraloungue’ on the store’s lower ground floor has been transformed by OMA into an intimate arena presenting a daily program of speeches, discussions and debates by leading ‘imagineers’. holding only 72 guests at any one time, the amphitheater is clad in frosted acrylic and has been finished with optic green paint. the ‘festival of imagination’ runs until february, 23rd 2014. for more information head over to wallpaper.

 

starting on may 1st, the same venue will host ‘the beauty project’, a selfridges campaign which will question traditional notions of appearance and looks through a wide range of talks and seminars.
