specializing in business aviation, the cannes-mandelieu airport is a key transport link in the côte d’azur, france. in one year, the airport recorded over 70,000 flight movements, therefore the hangar must be carefully adapted to the needs of the aircrafts, the personnel and clients whilst keeping with the high standards. the infrastructure is designed by french practice comte vollenweider and is influenced by the picturesque landscape of the lower siagne river valley, the distinctive diamond shaped elevation is composed of 403 triangular pyramids base and 403 flat triangles and constructed by KAWNEER, who specializes in façade solutions.

with contemporary aesthetics, the design of the building is environmental and energy efficient, the facets on the exterior create vibrations whilst reflecting the glimmering leaves on the trees and the waves of the sea. the capacity to hold 5-8 aircrafts, the arrangement of the structure is to group the offices together at one end in order to maximize space for the freedom of the aircrafts to manoeuver around obstacle free, whilst providing the tools for technical maintenance.
