a new co-living experience in Bali

Located in the center of Ubud, Indonesia, Clan Living Hotel introduces a new model of micro-living which brings digital nomads together, combining work and entertainment. Designed by Ruang Nyaman, the project sees a hotel renovation with a focus on wellness and sustainability, utilizing locally-sourced materials and making bamboo the protagonist. A system of curved bamboo poles clads the existing building, thus generating a breathable new facade. The sweeping makeover also sees a double-level communal area with long wooden benches for working and interaction, topped by a bamboo roof that reflects the surrounding setting. The secondary skin, along with the giant canopy, celebrates the magnificence of the material, highlighting its durability, malleability, and beauty.hotel renovation in bali celebrates bamboo with co-living space for digital nomads

bamboo as the protagonist for the Clan Living

Designed by the Indonesia-based studio, the project carries a co-living concept for those who looking for a cozy working environment while also expanding their network. The intricate structures made of bamboo are a sensitive response to the existing context, developed with sustainable consideration. The communal area is set under the massive bamboo roof, spanning two levels, with a wooden ramp connecting the two floors. On the upper level, users can work and enjoy the view of the pool while a series of curves calm the eye, exuding a soothing atmosphere. The ground level boosts interaction and gathering, as in addition to the working space, it features a fully equipped kitchen where users can cook, catch up and share ideas. The private rooms include a spacious balcony with direct access to the pool and communal area. They are designed to maximize the user’s comfort, combining work and vacation.
