alexander wang is an american designer that has made a name for himself winning multiple awards for his fashion collections. following this rise to fame, he has seen the benefits of collaborations, working with the likes of australia’s haydenshapes for a series of marble surfboards, and now, with christian lahoude studio for a 720 sqft showcase. located in the sogo shopping center of hong kong, china utilizes the concept aligns with the defining characteristics of wang’s works. the store, which opened in september 2014, implements a floating shelving unit, duratrans displays, minimalist furniture, terrazzo, white italian carrara, black nero marquina marble, and polished bronze metal. the contrasting color palette of black and white is complemented by a balance of transparency and opacity.
