mia design studio fuses public facility with vietnamese landscape
Located in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, The Park by MIA Design Studio transforms a public service facility into an extension of the landscape. The architects explore how urban functionality can coexist with a spacious, nature-centric atmosphere while integrating into its surroundings. Inspired by the natural features of the site, the team extends views toward the nearby lake, arranges the volumes of the building to maintain harmony with the environment, and introduces cascading hillside gardens that flow into open hilltop spaces. These elements capture the essence of tropical architecture by combining practicality with openness and natural light.

fluid arrangements in The park extend the lush environment
Reflecting the investor’s passion for greenery, the Vietnamese team at MIA Design Studio has crafted a tranquil space that connects urban life with nature. The facade of The Park features intricately carved openings that serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. By day, these patterns filter sunlight, reducing solar glare by up to two-thirds to improve energy efficiency and interior comfort. By night, the openings transform the building into a luminous lantern, with light shimmering on the water’s surface, creating a mesmerizing effect.
The layout interacts harmoniously with the built environment and the lush urban landscape. MIA Design Studio expands functional spaces while the building’s orientation strengthens its connection to the lake. Cascading hillside gardens provide a gentle transition from architecture to nature, culminating in a hilltop area that is airy, bright, and open. This fluid arrangement makes the structure feel like an organic extension of its environment.
