swedish studio medium invited nine architects to design buildings for nine different clients, as part of the building blocks exhibition at fargfabriken in stockholm. the clients ages range from 6 to 16 years old. featured in the show are the results of the collaboration including models and real buildings.
the show aims to present the process of architecture, highlighting the roles and relationships required in the design and construction of a building. a brief for each building was developed from a meeting between client and architect. each architect then responded to the varied requirements which included singing windows, an africa-shaped bed (with egypt-shaped pillow), a cupcake room, a torture chamber and a lookout tower.
the architects included: AOC, helen & hard, hollmen reuter sandman, j&t architects, kjellander sjoberg, kod arkitekter, terroir, wilhelmson architects and zizi & yoyo.
the ‘building blocks’ exhibition is on until 26th september, 2010.
