in memory of her legacy since her unexpected passing in march, vitra asked designer-duo ronan and erwan bouroullec to create an installation dedicated to architect zaha hadid. named ‘for zaha’, the temporary installation is comprised of 120 vases filled with thin stems of flora and poetically staged within the fire station on the vitra campus in weil am rhein, germany – hadid’s first ever realized architectural scheme.

exhibited between the 14th june to 14th july 2016, the bespoke cylindrical vases of bouroullec’s installation stand at various sizes in the center of the concrete room in front of a portrait of hadid. with the recent opening of the vitra schaudepot, the fire station is now part of the public area on the vitra campus.
