Nhà Tú Garden Restaurant features green internal courtyards

Long Nguyen Design designs Nhà Tú Garden Restaurant, a Vietnamese dining space that features natural materials and a dual-layered spatial structure. The architectural concept combines the aesthetics of an artisanal art museum with an inviting tropical garden, creating a seamless connection between the built environment and nature.

The design of Nhà Tú Garden introduces a tranquil green oasis amid an urban and industrial landscape, aiming to integrate contrasting elements and establish a vibrant green focal point. The restaurant‘s core concept revolves around creating a ‘small garden’ within a larger one by carving out a central hollow space within a substantial box-like structure. This design forms an outdoor tropical sanctuary with water features and lush foliage.

An infinity pool stretching across the front facade serves as a visual anchor while also playing a functional role in temperature regulation by reducing heat radiation from the street. The structure’s four elevations are composed of dual layers, with bamboo shading on the outer layer and transitional spaces such as voids and courtyards on the inner layer. These elements promote continuity between built form, water, and greenery.

Long Nguyen Design integrates modern and traditional elements

The restaurant’s spatial configuration emphasizes functionality and user experience, with a central garden designed to resemble a skylight cave serving as the heart of the ecosystem. Thoughtfully placed openings enable seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor areas, facilitating natural ventilation and reducing weather disruptions.

Nhà Tú Garden Restaurant combines modern industrial techniques with traditional craftsmanship, employing pre-fabricated steel frames and handcrafted brick walls with intricately woven reed mats. Despite the challenges faced during the design process, Long Nguyen Design successfully integrates modern and traditional elements to create a harmonious and inviting dining experience.
