BAD's y-house comprises of three function-oriented volumes in lebanon

designed by international practice BAD (built by associative data), ‘y house’ is a residential complex located in a suburban village in the south of lebanon. Y in shape and overlooking 360° views, the house comprises three arms divided by function and presented upon a site of green topography.

integrated into the site’s landscape the three volumes revolve around the central hall. here the entrance is located, highlighted by the arm containing the living areas which cantilevers over the road.

the remaining arms sit firmly on the ground, one of which contains the residents’ sleeping areas. to maintain the inhabitants’ privacy, the BAD team arranged the translucent arms with recreational and sleeping areas in the private garden. the other areas consists of a recreational zone hosting a pool and sports facilities.

coated with corten steel skin the façade is smartly fitted into the surrounding natural entourage. this mix of architectural materials and landscape is complemented by a water pond adding a mystic effect to the serenity of the project.
