luxury italian footwear brand aquazzura has opened its first US flagship store along madison avenue in new york. the retail interiors by ryan korban, features a play in pastel tones, texture and materials to combine and create a stylish boutique for its manhattan location but still reminiscent of the footwear brand’s italian roots.
the 2,221 square foot boutique presents a 17 feet of street frontage marked with the building’s original 1876 façade. inside, the aquazzura boutique imbues a femininity and elegance that is influenced by interior designer ryan korban’s choice of pink marble and suede; juxtaposed with the black and white striped archways and gold fixtures. the domed ceilings, columns and archways, influenced by the famous basilica in florence is a nod to classical italian architecture. this, paired with the simple color scheme, lighting and thin gold display units giving the overall interior a more contemporary and elegant aesthetic.
