anders berensson imagines 60 different scenarios to repurpose train tracks in sweden

the ‘tibro train tracks’ project by anders berensson architects envisions 60 different future scenarios for the city center of the small swedish town of tibro. commissioned by the municipality to form various proposals, the architectural practice has created a collection of images as a starting point for discussions with the local community, to include residents in the redevelopment of their hometown. the brief was to reimagine the railway and the existing station, which can be seen throughout the variety of pictures generated.

in order to provide a wide range of potential concepts to discuss with the local community, anders berensson decided to create 60 visualizations of the train area from 60 different suggestions. they employed a quick method of generating the montages and completed one every half hour. during four days, this resulted in 16 per day and 64 in total. with this approach, it allowed a broad starting point for the future of the tibro train tracks. 

the montages range vastly in concept – from small interventions to adventurous ideas, from the mundane to the extraordinary and from super realistic to the utterly fantastical. the intention by anders berensson was to send the message that all thoughts and proposals are valid in the early stage of shaping the future of an important place in the city. from a wildlife sanctuary to an outdoor swimming pool, or even a race track, the project by the architect renders the people of tibro spoilt for choice.
