AMDL CIRCLE, the creative multidisciplinary studio led by italian architect michele de lucchi, is working on an architectural research project that considers different aspects of individual and collective life. this research includes exploring the concept of home and public space, as well as transport, hospitality, health, and the workplaces of the future. the architects say that these considerations have been accelerated by the ongoing pandemic and the impact it has had on our daily lives.

AMDL CIRCLE’s research projects seek to merge humanistic values with technological capacity in a context of responsibility for the natural world. as part of this research the studio has designed two modular and transportable pieces of architecture: ‘atelier station’ and ‘sweet suite station’. both human-scaled structures have been designed without foundations, allowing them to be freely positioned within the landscape to encourage creativity and contemplation.

‘atelier station’ is capable of serving as a studio for artists, providing guests with a place to rest, think, and create. meanwhile, ‘sweet suite station’ is another self-sufficient structure that provides visitors with comfortable overnight accommodation. here, the window is used as a three dimensional area with a desk that allows occupants to feel as if they are in constant dialogue with the surrounding landscape. the units, which can be grouped to form larger settlements, have been designed to minimize environmental impact in both construction and transport phases.
