6717 studio completes liên thông house in vietnam with perforated façade

built for a young family in ho chi minh city, the liên thông house by vietnamese firm 6717 studio stands out from its surroundings with its irregular shape and all-white exterior. natural light within the three-floor, westward residence is filtered through various rectangular openings on its façade and a large skylight, which create a buffer zone between the exterior and interior spaces and allow air to enter the house directly.all images by hiroyuki oki

in order to decrease the harshness of direct sunlight, 6717 studio has placed small gardens and secondary spaces, such as bathrooms, at the front, allowing the main spaces of the house to become cooler. the 70 sqm residence incorporates lots of connected, open spaces, enabling parents to watch over their children even when they are not in the same room. the large skylight at the top of the roof brings plenty of sunshine within the house, lighting it during the day without the need for electricity. the whitewashed hue of the exterior continues within the interior spaces, where it is combined with wood and glass details for a contemporary, simple aesthetic.
