07BEACH designs a cheese tart store in ho chi minh city for BAKE

the first store in vietnam of japanese cheese tart brand BAKE  opened in november 2017. in seeking something light touch to display products, 07BEACH designed a point-fixing bolt attached to glass to hold the table.

raw dark step frame highlights the selling space

in computer rendering, 07BEACH sometimes applies different lightness on each surface of the material to emphasize a shade of an object. the same method was used in the real construction, applying lighter color of the step to the darker one on the vertical surfaces of stairs.

also the lighter color of the step was applied to walls in the staff area and darker one to the customer area. the staff area is brighter, so it is highlighted like a stage.

mirrored ceiling reflects products to the street

to utilize the property’s character which faces a street and has a double-height ceiling, the stairs from the entrance to the cashier shows that the passersby customers are queuing in vertical direction. it made each tart-display table be stair-like and inside floor for staff is sloped as a result.

point-fixing bolts attached to the glass gives the floating impression 

the store’s floor level is higher than the street lever by 400 mm. due to that level difference, the tarts can be hardly seen from outside. to complement this, stair-like mirrored ceiling was designed to reflect tarts to the street.

plain gray facade with the simplest signage stands out among many colorful signage and stores on the busy street.
