As a union of two highly skilled crafts, Lalique shapes a trophy-esque glass decanter to display 33-year-old Glenturret Prowess whisky. It marks the second release of the Trinity series from Scotland’s oldest working distillery, once more presented in crystal by the renowned, historic French manufacturer. The limited edition design mirrors the craft, commitment and patience needed to pursue the deeply complex single malt.

‘I took inspiration from the emotive iconography of trophies with celebrate Success and Prowess in a given field of pursuit. This elegant and distinguished decanter represents the skills of our Lalique artisan crystal makers and the craftsmanship of the whisky-making team at Scotland’s oldest working distillery,’ says Marc Larminaux, Artistic & Creative Director at Lalique, who designed the decanter.

Inspired by the many skilled hands that create the whisky, Lalique crafted the glass decanter for Glenturret Prowess as an icon fit to hold the aged alcohol. The design references the Art Deco movement that founder René Lalique became renowned for as a driving force. Fluting cascades eye-catchingly down the four edges of the trophy-shaped decanter, refracting a spectacular interplay of light and colors with the whisky inside.

Drawn from three casks – two filled in 1987 and one filled in 1988 – the whisky was bottled into 320 editions in December 2022 at 33 years old. Tasted by designboom, the single malt is characterized by a profile of wood, spices, aromatics, and oranges.
