After several monochromatic decades of architecture, color is making its comeback. With reference to Le Corbusier‘s Polychromie Architecturale*, the unique system of 63 colors, JUNG transports architectural design into the field of electrical installation. The German company’s LS 990 Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier collection grants a myriad of harmonious combinations of switches, sockets, and operating controls that can be installed flush in furniture, on masonry as well as on dry wall construction.

history meets modernity meets contemporaneity

Le Corbusier is considered to be one of the most important architects of the 20th century. The color scheme of buildings and the effect of color were just as important for him as the layout or the form. With this in mind, the Swiss artist created the Polychromie Architecturale system, a concept still unique to date. The series – first created in 1931 and updated in 1959 – was and is used as a reliable tool addressed to architects, interior designers and designers.

The system consists of 20 strong shades and 43 muted colors, which can be combined in all variations. What is so special about this color system is the fact that Le Corbusier has perfectly coordinated the 63 colors and thus made them harmoniously combinable through the entire range, which is what led JUNG to translate the series into switches and sockets – an essential part of interiors that is often neglected.

Giving spaces the desired atmosphere through the combination of color tones is an art. Seamlessly coordinated, like the members of an orchestra, Polychromie Architecturale and thus the products of JUNG play together. Since 2014, the company has exclusively offered the LS 990 switch range in the original Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier colors. The collection stands for timeless design and has inspired users since 1968 with its straightforward elegance. Together with the wide selection of colors, the electrical control units can be integrated even more individually as a design element in the architecture.

Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier range from sockets to dimmers

Thanks to JUNG, the switches and sockets can be modern statement pieces that blend with or contrast the color scheme of the room. Their frames can be combined with all center plates in the JUNG LS range, while a wide variety of applications are possible thanks to its wide range of functions. As a result, architecturally demanding visions can be consistently put into practice. Whether it is a push switch, 2-gang switch or a classic switch, the LS 990 range offers numerous inserts for manual or automated lighting control.

As well as conventional switches, sockets or dimmers, controls are also integrated in the unique color system for the control of room functions. The Smart Home can thus also be realized in Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier.

jung brings the colored switches to life

Through a series of five reels, JUNG interprets Le Corbusier’s choice of colors. Bleu Outremer emerges from the waters and skies, setting a breezy yet powerful tone to the blue shade, while Le Jaune Vif calmly camouflages into the desert’s dunes, as its warm yellow hue creates a home for jewelry and wildlife. On a different note, the romantic but sexy Rose Vif invites lovers into a world of pink flowers, delicious desserts and cocktails, while amongst trees and infinite vegetation, Vert Anglaise serves its purpose as green does – to refresh and revive. Noir d’Ivore contrasts the previous reels with its classic black elegance as it travels into the night, showered in glitter, with views to the moon and the busy streets of the city.

*The Polychromie Architecturale is based on the artistic selection of pigments and the repetition of a few primary colors. All 63 colors are natural colors and as such are consistently harmonious. Further information about the keyboards of the colors can be found here. Every color can be harmoniously combined with any other color in the system. This distinguishes the Polychromie Architecturale from other color systems. Thus, it is a unique tool. “Cross-trade” holistic interior design can also be implemented.
