Sleek, slim, and easily foldable, N1 is the world’s thinnest and first semi-soft bicycle helmet, designed by Newton-Rider. Integrated with innovative technologies and features developed in-house, it breaks away from the rigid, bulky, and industrial design of typical helmets for something more comfortable, flexible, and visually appealing. Developed to make the modern, young traveler’s commute more fashionable, the product makes ‘personal safety a desire — not a choice.’

 

As such, the N1 is fitted with a three-layer impact protection system engineered with Newton-Rider’s proprietary non-Newtonian thermoplastic elastomer. Combining sophisticated technology with elegant design the helmet adapts intuitively to each head shape and size and provides a comfortable fit while on the go, and can be packed away in a compact bag when you arrive at your destination.

With the worsening global energy crisis, young urban commuters have increasingly begun embracing sustainable multimodal transportation. Vigilant about their appearance, these consumers are often not as enthusiastic about riding with a typical bulky helmet as they are with protecting the environment. Taking this into consideration, the team at Newton-Rider created an innovative helmet tailored towards the young, design-conscious cyclists. The N1 helmet radiates a sleek and stylish appearance, creates enhanced comfort and adaptable usability, and protects against minor concussions.

integrating innovative technology with sleek design

 

Integrating sophisticated design and technology innovations, Ulrik Jensen, Daniel Bünger, and Wil Marschall created a 16mm thick shell — approximately 40% thinner than regular polystyrene helmets — and developed an innovative three-layer protective system. Its system of semi-soft pads can help avoid concussions in smaller accidents, creates a lightweight appearance and comfortable experience. 

 

Newton-Rider further bonded the individual pads to a flexible liner layer to make the helmet better suited for multimodal transportation, allowing it to be easily foldable to fit inside a small side bag or backpack. This feature further allows the helmet to easily adapt to any head shape and form, resulting in a better fit and a more seamless ride.
