uncovering the ‘blizzflosser’ by chris martin

Following his radical ‘toothbrush-sponge,’ Chris Martin from Blizzbrush reveals yet another revolutionary dental device dubbed the ‘Blizzflosser’. His custom-made, 3D-printed design helps floss all teeth at once and in no time. Unlike the manual technique, which can take over 4 minutes to execute, the ‘Blizzflosser’ gets the job done in about 14 seconds. Users simply bite down on their tailored device, grind a little to anchor it, and start steering with their jaws to clean up the crevices.

The flosser is equipped with Blizzbrush’s reusable, washable, and soft tooth floss, thin enough to gently glide into all interdental spaces and between teeth and gums without a problem. One flosser can last up to three months and comes in a pack of five. It requires no electricity and no batteries.

tailoring each flosser based on dental impressions

Each ‘Blizzflosser’ is tailored to the customer’s individual interdental spaces and denture geometry. To get those unique ‘prints’, Blizzbrush sends a double-sided tray with a special paste to bite down on, 5 mm deep, to get the impressions of one’s upper and lower dentures. Once completed, users are requested to take pictures of each impression and send them to the company. Based on those images, the team can design and 3D print a custom flosser. ‘If you already have a scan of your denture, we can use this instead. And if you already have impressions of your teeth, we can work with photos of these too,’ explains Martin.

Biting into the flosses is super easy because they sit precisely over each person’s interdental regions. What also contribute to the efficient process are the device’s unique design and the way jaws develop an evenly distributed force. ‘Under pressure, when biting into it, the special multi-floss deforms and becomes thin enough to glide between all teeth easily. It is soft enough not to hurt gums but thick enough to clean tooth surfaces perfectly,’ he continues.

the steps to using the ‘blizzflosser’

Martin goes on to say that this dental device perfectly replicates the manual flossing techniques recommended by dentists. The steps to using the ‘Blizzflosser’ are simple. As soon as users have bitten into the flosses, they start by grinding left-right while also moving their jaw backward-forward; this forces the strings to hook nicely into each interdental space. The next step is to grind backward and forward while also moving the jaw from left to right. The final step is to bite down a little more while pushing the jaw left-right and backward-forward in one motion.
