Our motivation is derived from the observation of people using water tap at home. More often, we realised that people used more water than they actually need. This is a disturbing fact, knowing that clean water resource is precious. The idea is to form a low technology design/tool that fits well in most home-used taps and does not interfere with its current function. A tool that educate and control people by not over releasing too much running water from the tap.

A single piece injected-moulded silicone (water proof and durable) strip that secure around the neck of the tap and the lever/ knob. We utilise readily available rubber bands to link two silicone strips to create an opposing tension. This tension is crucial in controlling the chances of overturning the tap. We believe this low-technology design is manufacturing and cost effective.

We feel design has its limitations and view it rather as a tool to bring global perspectives to life. Good design speaks a universal language which connects and educates people; this makes it more significant beyond just problems solving or creating desirable products.

Framing the concept of motion for a greater cause brings extra significance to this project.
