breitling collaborates with triumph in watch and motorcycle collection

swiss luxury watchmaker breitling has collaborated with triumph motorcycles — the largest UK-owned motorcycle manufacturer — in the top time watches and spin twin motorcycle. inspired by 1960s café-racer culture, and celebrating the heritage of both brands, the collaboration brings style and craftsmanship together.

in the mid-1960s, a new subculture sprung around café racers. these motorcycles were used to literally transport their riders from hip café to hip café. to capture the era, willy breitling designed the top time, an unconventional chronograph created for these young and active professionals. it quickly became a bestseller, attracting both men and women with its bold proportions.

BLENDING TRADITION AND TECHNOLOGY

to bring back the freewheeling 1960s café-racer spirit back, breitling is presenting its top time collaboration with triumph. ‘triumph’s heritage and modern-retro aesthetic are just two of the many things we have in common,’ said georges kern, CEO of breitling. ‘their blending of tradition with technology is completely in sync with what we do.’

the collaboration is debuting the top time triumph watch featuring a distinctive brushed finish in the bow-tie motif. meanwhile, triumph is launching 270 co-branded motorcycles dubbed speed twin breitling limited edition. owners will be able to purchase a special version of the top time triumph with a sunday dial and engraved caseback featuring the number of their bike.

the watches feature ice-blue dials with two major references: a blue triumph thunderbird 6T from 1951, and a rare, blue-dialed breitling top time Ref. 815 from the 1970s. they have a racing-themed calfskin leather strap; breitling and triumph logos that sit subtly at 12 and 6 o’clock; oversized mushroom pushers; and a high-contrast tachymeter scale. they are powered by they breitling caliber 23, a COSC-certified chronometer with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.
