pianca explores the meaning of hospitality in venice

in an elegant 16th century palazzo within the historic center of venice, furnishing complements specialist pianca has created a hotel which combines contemporary and heritage elements. dubbed ‘palazzo pianca,’ the boutique project is situated near the iconic saint mark’s square, and offers an ‘ideas factory for lifestyles.’ an ongoing study and exploration of style and function, the temporary living space interprets the requirements and trends of travel and living today.

with its palazzo pianca, the design team explores the meaning of hospitality, noting that it serves as ‘a hub for experimenting with hospitality styles and trends destined to be modified over time in order to constantly test and introduce new style and function solutions.’

translating the ancient city with contemporary design

situated near famous historic and cultural attractions in venice including la fenice theater and the accademia galleries, palazzo pianca (see more here) is founded on its strong connection with the city, which is best expressed through its panoramic views of the terracotta roofscape. with its so-called ‘ideas factory,’ the team at pianca (see more here) aims to constantly update the perception of the role of design, and to study the relationships between form and function.

the rooms, with their comfortable and inviting atmospheres, were designed to prioritize the well-being of each guest. the trademark of veneto-based pianca is defined by clean lines, textural combinations, and natural elegance. these elements are expressed through the ambiance of the hotel — the lighting and colors, either vivid or neutral, take inspiration from the typical palette of the venetian façades. such attention to detail marks a constant reference to the tradition of the ancient city.

the unique and eclectic suites

palazzo pianca curates a blend of emotional experiences and history, offering rooms and suites with eclectic style rendered even more beautiful with pianca furniture. the suites – peacock, giglio, and mezzanine – are generously large and open, with a living room and bedroom.

the deluxe rooms — botanic, penthouse deluxe blue & brown, and artist – are also comfortable and welcoming with their brilliant fabrics and colors, as are the compact, inviting classic rooms, including a writing-desk and open closet combined with warm shades and soft lighting. a rooftop area rounds off the project, celebrating the sweeping postcard view across venice.

company president, aldo pianca comments:palazzo pianca is more than just a hotel. it is a challenge for us that we accepted with immense pride and a desire to prove ourselves, right from the start.

the building is an oasis of tranquility in the heart of the city. it contains spaces that far exceed the pure concept of hospitality, offering itself as a place which explores all of the constantly-shifting forms of living and travel today.’
