british electric motorcycle manufacturer, maeving, has unveiled the maeving RM1 — a cafe racer-inspired electric motorcycle. completely hand-built in coventry, the initial release of the 2021 model has been completely sold out, and a waiting list has opened for the 2022 model.

TWO ELECTRIC CONFIGURATIONS COMPARABLE TO A 49CC AND A 125CC

referencing mid-century british-buit standards, the electric maeving RM1 motorcycle is available in two types of configurations — comparable to a 49cc and a 125cc. its electric motor delivers a speed up to 45mph (73kph) and comes with a replaceable battery that can be charged from any socket in just 3.5 hours. ‘we’re making a future where your electric motorcycle is charged at your desk at work, not in your garage,’ the brand continued.

the maeving RM1 can support two batteries and is sold with one. one battery provides around 40 miles of range (usage & conditions dependent), perfect for the urban commute. plug in a second to instantly double the available range to 80 miles.

the price? £4,995 – the equivalent of $6,670 USD – for the motorcycle with just one battery. the second battery costs £1,195, or $1,595, but the brand notes that if bought together with the motorcycle, it can be purchased for £995 ($1,328).
