giving a new perspective to the industrial duct

what made jinyeong yeon interested in using ducts was their exterior traits, especially their comb stripe pattern. in addition, their rawness and their different shapes and sizes also captivated the korean artist’s attention. ‘I thought I had to bring a vent that exists only outside to the inside,’ he shares. ‘the object gave the audience an unexpected feeling, and at the same time, they felt curious and strange.’

the ‘duct series’ emerges as a work of art recreation. duct characteristics are reinterpreted and applied to the furniture pieces, while forming a modular system that reveals a variety of formal possibilities. essentially, the collection takes an ordinary element -the duct- and gives it a new perspective, creating something unexpected.
