you can sit on these giant colorful lily pads in a pond in connecticut, USA

the project by jaemee studio consists of 13 large size lily pads that are made out of insulation foams. their diameters vary between 30 cm and can go up to 2 meters, where four larger pads can be occupied by visitors. the aim of this temporary floating art installation is to invite visitors to enjoy the beauty of the pond from its interior while emerging themselves as part of an art piece.

with a focus on public art, architecture, and landscape architecture, jaemee studio’s projects explore ideas of creating infrastructure for artistic intervention derived from social and cultural context. their work often plays with inspiration from ordinary and familiar everyday objects to create playful, cultural, and artful landscapes by exercising the use of creative arrangement, juxtaposition, a shift in scale, color, and the use of extraordinary materials.
