this super-narrow electric car looks like an odd adult-sized toy or a tiny submarine

among the numerous pages of the famed e-commerce site alibaba, one can now find an odd-looking tiny electric automobile under the name ‘K5M-2500’. although its title and brand -listed as ‘electricKar’- don’t give much info on it, there’s something intriguing about this super-narrow EV. its small body features not one, not two… but eight windows, making it look like an odd adult-sized toy or a tiny submarine that’s hard to look past.

with a quick glance at the bright red ‘K5M-2500’ with the horse hood ornament, which can be found on alibaba, you’d almost mistake it for a fun-size ferrari. when it comes to its interior, though it may look like a personal car for one, it’s actually a two-seater thanks to a jump seat installed right behind the driver. 

this electric tiny car is so narrow that the driver could probably put an elbow out of each window at the same time. alternatively, it’s so slim that you could pass right between lanes next time you’re in traffic. but don’t get too excited — the EV is limited to a chipper 25 mph (40 km/h). 

the car’s impressively small size and low weight (just 258 kg) are what make up for its 800W motor. but with an electric car this cool, you wouldn’t want to go fast anyway — you’d want to give passers-by enough time to look at you and your fancy ride. and you’d be able to look at them right back, through any one of the eight windows.

in addition, the car features a 72V 38Ah Li-Ion battery offering 2.7 kWh of capacity. according to the manufacturer, the battery is sufficient for 52-66 km of range — a weirdly specific number, but honestly, are we surprised?
