‘OBIO clothing line’ is a series of estudio felipe escudero (EFE) that investigates materials in various design disciplines, including architecture, fashion, music, and film. thought out as architectural high-tech athleisure, the design reflects the lines and textures of modern organic architecture, such as concrete interpreted by gray fabrics, transparent glass by PVC textile, and steel translated by graphic prints that light up in the darkness.architect felipe escudero designs clothing line 3all images courtesy of estudio felipe escudero

 

 

‘OBIO’ proposes a way of thinking and inhabiting the new world, mixing extreme opposites to create new meanings, break preconceptions, and open new possibilities for fresh new identities. estudio felipe escudero seeks to materialize ideas into products that can communicate without being limited to the traditional definitions of disciplines. the garments take ideas from architecture to casual wear, while the result is comfortable clothing for both, to go to the gym or to attend a cocktail party.

 

 

‘photographs and video were shot inside the magnolia house that I designed and is in construction. magnolia house expresses the feelings of transparency and lightness. a post-tensioned horizontal slab allows for large structural spans and overhangs, and it organically transforms into the walls of the central patio. all the rooms in the house are organized around this patio that generates multiple views into the exterior landscape,’ said the designer.

the first release of the brand is documented in a video that shows the story of four characters who interact in a virtual simulation. all elements of the video are designed and curated by OBIO — the branch of EFE — including the architecture, clothing, and music. ‘in the renaissance, creatives used tools from different disciplines to express their ideas about the world. da vinci, for example, was a polymath: painter, anatomist, architect, paleontologist, artist, botanist, writer, sculptor, philosopher, musician, poet, and urban planner. since then, the technocratic development of culture has not been questioned, rather the disciplines have become increasingly specialized,’ noted the studio.architect felipe escudero designs clothing line 4
