chinese manufacturing company BROAD group has built a ten-story apartment building in just over a day. the company, which has been developing factory-made steel buildings since 2009, unveiled a video which shows the building process which resembles that of building cars: streamlined production, high quality, and low cost.

dubbed the living building, the structure was erected in 28 hours and 45 minutes. to achieve this, BROAD group uses a technology of prefabricated construction systems where self-contained modular units built in advance are assembled together. the modules feature a standard container size that meet the requirements of a 40ft high cube container which can be transported worldwide. installation is extremely easy and can be done onsite by just tightening bolts and connecting water and electricity.

the BROAD group claims the living building is ten times lighter and stronger than conventional structures, and that it is resistant to earthquakes and typhoons. it is endowed with high quality materials and craft work and features an ultra-low energy consumption and failure rate, making its operation five times less than those of conventional buildings. its streamlined production has 20 times more high-efficiency than that of conventional construction, and its even lower than carbon steel buildings.

each standard module is 12.19 m (40ft) long, 2.44 m (8ft) wide, and 3 m (10ft) high. it has the most varied building types and room types: it is perfectly suitable for luxury residences, 200-story skyscrapers, and also ideal for public and residential buildings. inside, column-less clear spaces up to 12mx4.8mx12m with a clear height of 2.77mt can be achieved. the position and quantity of walls, doors, windows, and balconies can be easily changed after completion, and the building itself can be disassembled and relocated easily.
