purple creative: create an enchanting identity for zubrowka bison grass vodka by Sam Espensen from uk
designer's own words:
to capture the brand’s 600 year old story in a magical way, purple creative commissioned acclaimed artist kristjana s williams to create a stylish, sophisticated and magical realist collection of illustrations that would become zubrowka’s new visual identity.
originally a fashion fabric designer, she interweaved black and white victorian engravings with contemporary illustration and bursts of vibrant colour – the perfect style to capture the wildness of the forest and the myth of the bison grass.
purple added in multiple layers of evocative detail, so that every time you look you discover something different – an owl staring from a tree trunk, a masked falcon, a grass picker’s basket, a local konik pony, a wild apple tree, the impossibly scare ghost orchid.
the identity is unlike anything else in the spirits category, which is traditionally full of cocktail images and bright white identities – so kristjana’s beautiful illustrations completely set zubrowka apart.
purple have translated this natural and enchanting world onto all creative channels, including social media feeds, website, tasting sessions, on-trade and experiential events.
