curved beauty from within

designer's own words:

i was inspired by the quote in the brief 'infinity's power is curved', to produce a concept which could provide a visual representation of the performance and style of the infinity brand. the concept is designed to represent the mechanical elements of the car, where i was able to show the movements and flows of the curve and allow the visuals to work with the structure and play with perspective. the inspiration for the structure came from the idea of pistons in the engine which power the car, and I wanted to show how Infinity's brand not only creates beauty on the outside but is powered by the curve on the inside. the structure itself allows the user to experience digital content with physical elements, where they can see the visuals flowing freely across the surfaces. i have designed the structure to be made from polystyrene which is lightweight and provides a efficient surface for projection mapping visuals. the visuals as a collective represent different elements within the engine working together to power the car such as the curves which show the moving fuel, the pistons producing flowing movements and generally a uplifting colour scheme to provide an immersive experience.

i have provided a live rough recording of the visuals mapped and projected onto a polystyrene structure, to show the storyboard of the show and to give you and idea of the live experience i want to achieve. i have not had the facilities to produce the curved version of the structure so I used simple straight line versions of the visuals to use as a reference to show what i would like to achieve and for you to see how it would work in person. to support this i have produced my concept of the curved structure and visuals, to show you how i will translate the rough straight lined storyboard into the the curved visual experience for the infinity show. i have also provided a visual example for the placement of the structure, which preferably would be at the front but could also be showcased at the side. the polystyrene pillars will be supported by blocks at the bottom, this is so the structure can be layered behind each other to create the physical perception experience for the viewers. if the concept is put into production I will use a recorded piano soundtrack with subtle engine recordings which i feel will effectively represent the brand, and harmonise with the flowing visuals.
