i wanted to convey that the moleskine diaries have been utilised by great legends and many grand thing have been written in them, hence the end quotation marks. I've used a part of the quotation mark and the nib of a pen to create the shape of the letter 'M'. i came up with this idea while doodling different way's to represent "idea's" and "thoughts" within a logo. i thought the nib was a nice touch as it is the tool used to convey idea's and thought's within a diary.
