there is no a lot of philosophy about this logo. it shows its affiliation to moleskine marque with iconic profile of moleskine notebook. we have got word moleskine inside the notebook representing the famous elastic band, and sufix -rie outside it. it's simple as that. other color options are possible, but it works best in black on white. also, it is higly readable even if you scale it to 75x75 pixels.
