moleskine as a company, and therefore moleskinerie as its official blog, are wholly dedicated to their users, which are mostly artists, illustrators and draftsmen. moleskine notebooks are their canvases and the medium through which they express themselves and prosper. the second main thought is that a logo is in fact a little piece of art. exactly these two facts are the key thoughts behind the concept of this project.

it is an interactive logo that (as the moleskine notebook itself) enables the users of the brand to affect its look and style, meaning that it works as a little canvas for the users to draw on. in this way every time an artist makes his drawing on the logo it becomes a real piece of art, and as already said a piece of art by and for the blogs users.

the logo is made of a little frame in the form of a moleskine notebook and the textual part reading “moleskinerie - legends and stories”. the frame marks the area where the users are supposed to place their drawing.

how would all of this be realized? for example, a monthly contest would be published on the moleskinerie blog for the users to submit their vector based/one color proposals for the current months logo. at the end of the month a winner would be chosen and his proposal would be visible as the logo on top of the moleskinerie web site. as seen in submitted “file5”, if you hover the graphic in the logo, a little floating window would open to show more info about the artist and the link to the artists web site/portfolio. a contest of this kind would be very attractive to people who by winning become some kind of featured artists of the moleskinerie blog and it would make the blog even more popular and visited.

the logo would also be applied on moleskine notebooks and t-shirts, but the frame would be blank for the users to fill with their own art. if possible, black and white markers of a selected brand would be sold with the notebooks and t-shirts.
