the united states postal service (USPS) has announced a set of stamps featuring the dazzling star wars beloved droids. representing more than four decades of innovation and storytelling, the droids featured in this pane of 20 stamps are IG-11, R2-D2, K-2SO, D-O, L3-37, BB-8, C-3PO, a GNK (or gonk) power droid, 2-1B surgical droid and C1-10P, commonly known as ‘chopper.’ all characters are shown against backgrounds representing settings of memorable adventures.
‘R2-D2 once delivered the death star plans to the rebellion; soon, the plucky astromech — and nine other star wars droids — will help your mail reach its destination, too.’

the star wars droid stamps by the USPS are a nod to lucasfilm’s, as well as its parent company, disney’s, commitment to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning and the continued collaboration between ‘star wars: force for change’ and global pre-K-12 nonprofit organization FIRST (for inspiration and recognition of science and technology). both have joined forces to expand access to STEM learning to more young people and to help them envision a brighter future.
the star wars stamps were designed by greg breeding under the art direction of william gicker. additional details will be announced later this year. and make sure you stay tuned as 2021 is star wars 50th anniversary and it will surely bring many surprises.
