designer's own words:
it may not be anything fruitful or meaningful, but the first page of my moleskine was the scribbles of my wandering mind. the logo, inspired by this initial random act, is a simplified but iconic image of the notebook. stripped off its details, the essence of moleskine is characterized by the shape of the book with its fillet edges. moleskinerie, as a collective of sketches and ideas on moleskine, is signified by the random scribble that forms an "m". the scribble represents the great ideas to come thereafter. "moleskinerie" sits humbly below the icon in small letters, letting the icon take the show. the logo works in the background of various iconic colors in the moleskine series and can also exists in monocolors on white backgrounds. the simplicity of the logo is to leave the lasting impression of moleskinerie as the most inspiring notebook we can own to date.
