designboom's cinema weekend of 'tokyo ride' digital premiere — a blockbuster hit!

from december 12-13, 2020, designboom offered a free cinematic experience of ‘tokyo ride’, a brilliant new film that was screened in the homes of 28,000 of our readers over the weekend! as a pre-festive holiday surprise, we teamed up with filmmakers bêka & lemoine to premiere the digital screening of the movie, which takes viewers on a drive through the city streets with ryue nishizawa, one of japan’s most acclaimed contemporary architects. the ‘cinema weekend’ initiative was hugely popular, and reached more than 700,000 people across our homepage and social media channels in just two days!
