virgil abloh designs enzo mari hoodie and installation for triennale milano exhibition

as part of the exhibition, enzo mari curated by hans ulrich obrist, at triennale milano on view from now through april 18, 2021, virgil abloh presents a site-specific installation that allows visitors to fashion their own hoodie. drawing from enzo mari’s philosophy of ‘autoprogettazione’ (or ‘self-design’), abloh introduces a kit of threads, needles, pins and sweatshirt swatches that gives exhibition-goers the opportunity to sew their own sweatshirt. in inviting the public to craft a personal project of their own, abloh urges visitors to use their own hands to assemble the different elements and thus create the final artwork — ‘off-white™ modular hooded sweatshirt’.

meanwhile, abloh’s fashion label off-white has released the ‘triennale enzo mari’ hoodie, which draws from enzo mari’s graphics and specifically the image, ‘la pantera’ (the panther)’. the long sleeved hooded sweatshirt features graphic prints on the front and arrows on the back. the black off-white logo is featured on the side, with rib knit at cuffs and hem and a kangaroo pocket.
