R4 Esprit Souple by Guido Lanci from italy
designer's own words:
the challenge of the redesign of a historic vehicle as the R4 does not seem a key sustainability challenge: at the end of the '60s had as large a drive applications with a reduced fuel consumption and an extraordinary livability. Today we are obliged to make a choice now accredited renewable fuel: compressed air of coaxial rotary engine direct drive shaft on each wheel. The Wankel engine revised by Angelo DiPietro and produced in Australia promises a wide energy use compressed air. New Esprit R4 Souple we offer has: a removable hood charger for storage of more than 200 liters of air in 5 cylinders, 4 rotary direct drive motors on all 4 wheels, an auxiliary engine to transform the energy produced by the panel photovoltaic roof of compressed air, a cargo compartment extending from 350 to 650 liters per load and uses a habitability up to 7 passengers. The materials take into account the cycles and reduced disposal impact: infill door canvas as well as areas for the reduction of stretch material and the facilitation of repairs and lock lid molded one-piece molding in air
