Hands on door handles - international design competition
Design. A word that applies today, the whole culture of fashion, where any object, idea or attitude is associated with this term, as a qualitative adjective to justify and magnify their value.
However, design is more than just a word, an adjective. It is a discipline, a way of thinking and creating that, when properly applied, makes everything around us a better way, more interesting and richer.
Open or close doors is a gesture that we usually do every day, often without paying attention to the gesture and the environment, in other words, the door and its mechanism for opening or closing, its handle.
In the private space of our home, this is a subject that recurs significantly in space, assuming a real role, which will offer functionality, ergonomics, beauty. In short, design.
Coni it’s a door handle who aspires to attain this purpose.
Concept
The idea was born from the circle shape. All of it is on the object, from its genesis as circle, giving rise to other geometric figures.
The goal is to develop the circle for other geometric shapes, from spheres to cylinders, forming a cone yet, even though this is only a suggested form, although this is the strongest visual image of the set.
The development of this concept lies in projecting cylinders of different lengths with the same diameter, a shorter and others longer willing to create a strong visual dynamics to handle, giving this a linear, smooth and consistent reading.
Technical considerations
The dimensions of the handle are framed in standard sizes. This handle uses the ‘six millimeters concept’ from Colombo Design.
The surface finishing chosen are mat chrome and zirconium stainless-steel.
