Handj

Handj by paolo emilio bellisario from italy

designer's own words:

Handj is designed to show off and easy and immediate message strictly connected between the door and the handles. Instead adding signs or stickers on doors, we found it useful to print this statement on the handle itself. By a common root of PUSH and PULL as also by the same number of letters, we designed a symmetrical steel handle, impresses with letters. While the first two letters PU are fixed, a turnable roll allows the user to select the end of the word.
Mostly design for public buildings (schools, offices or hospitals) where clarity and easy usage are expressly requested to meet the needs of the community, but also elderly and disabled needs.
Unlike regular handles, by a symmetrical design, Handj can easily be connect on both ends to pin lock. This allows a single moulding as also helps reducing production costs.

While Handj is made of steel (polished or satin), the small roll can match the door with various changes in color and materials.
