twofold handle

twofold handle by dimitris agathopoulos from greece

designer's own words:

since i don't have previous experience on production matters, i will previously comment on the design idea which combines two different elements, the strong minimalistic idea and the flexibility. those two characteristics could not only be the external description of the handle but the material composition interacting also. so, from the strong squared minimal base of the handle till the curved end of it, there is an alternation caused by a small swirl in the middle that curves the material in a way that the handle handshakes and gives a friendly predisposition no matter what the texture is. as your hand holds the handle, the eye is driven to the uncovered part (the squared base)with the strong geometric shape giving the feel of a strong construction. well, as for the technical issues, the use of almite coated aluminum could be just fine. resistance on scratches and could be tinted to any color for better visual appearance. aluminum is a low cost material with antioxidant ability and quite friendly to human as it has been extensively used for food packing. the shape of the handle allows you to move freely to any textures you like from a glossy look to a matte texture.
