Bamboo Door Handle by yuki iwatsuki from japan

I was inspired by Shishiodoshi, a piece of art that symbolizes my country (Japan). The movement of shishiodoshi reminded me of the door handle's movement. I wanted to design a door handle for home uses and a piece that is warm and homely; so bamboo was the perfect theme. Bamboo has always been there in the art and design field from long time ago which makes it really timeless. It's simple but yet can be exotic and luxurious when made in gold. Also the concave shape and the ridges are designed to fit one's hand comfortably.
