The GRIP

The GRIP by peter nederkoorn from netherlands

designer's own words:

the grip

the design of the grip is two-sided. on the one hand the motion of the hand gripping a door handle, and on the other the closing of a door by pulling with your fingers or pushing with your thumb.
to make the differences between persons and there gripping clear the door handle has an inlay of memory foam, which will hold the shape of the grip after which it will slowly return to its original form, waiting for the next person to open the door. the foam is covered with an antibacterial and enduring colored coating. alternatives for the inlay are versatile, wood and bakelite will look perfectly.
the notch on the back of the brushed steel handle helps to pull the door shut, the notch on the front helps to push the door shut. the design of the handle supports the subconscious act of closing a door.
the grip is a slick and clear design, perfectly usable in contemporary architecture.
